Digital Film Making Arts Education Experience
Understanding professional techniques for making short films, documentaries, and new ways to self-distribute, as an independent filmmaker is the focus of this course. Using real world production techniques, this fun and exciting course is designed to support the beginner and the emerging digital filmmaker. Hands-on training in camera: camera operations, composition, lighting, audio, and editing. An excellent course for home-schooled students, teachers and librarians. Classes held at the Meeting Place. Ages 16 thru Adult.

Theatre Arts and World Rhythm & Drum Circles
For Adults:
Reconnect with the beat of your heart and heal your spirit through the rhythm of friendship. World and folk percussionist Julian Gooding will teach you the basics for djembe, conga, darbuka, balafon and other world rhythms. This drum class is a wonderful way to relive the stress of the day while learning to play. Classes are held outdoors at the North Charleston Riverfront Park. Drums are provided and all you need to bring is a portable chair or stool and a desire to have fun. Class sizes are limited.

Drum Circles and the Teller-of-Tales Academy
For Youth:
Learn the art of playing world rhythms and the techniques for crafting and presenting whimsical stories. Storyteller and percussionist Julian Gooding uses theatre, drumming and oral traditions of West Africa to open and engage the creative mind and spirit of a child. The children will present a contemporary tale using percussion. Ages 13-16. Classes are held outdoors at the North Charleston River Front Park. Drums are provided and all your child needs is a portable chair or stool and a love for performing. Class sizes are limited.
